Our Story
Gentech started in 2019 in a shared studio in East London with three people and an idea: what if a brand focused entirely on getting the fundamentals right? No logos, no seasonal trends, no influencer campaigns. Just exceptional materials, honest construction, and designs that earn their place in your life.
Five years later, that idea hasn't changed. We've grown — slowly, deliberately — but the principles remain the same. Every piece we make goes through dozens of iterations before it reaches you. We test fabrics for thousands of hours. We wear our own prototypes until we can't find anything left to improve.
We work with four partner ateliers across Portugal and Italy, each specializing in a different craft: tailoring, knitwear, leather goods, and denim. These are multi-generational workshops where skill is measured in decades, not deadlines. We pay above market rates because good work deserves fair compensation — and because it produces better results.

Material First
Every piece begins with the fabric. We travel to the world's finest mills and tanneries, selecting materials that age beautifully and feel extraordinary from the first wear.
Designed to Last
We reject disposability. Our garments are engineered for years of daily use — reinforced seams, quality hardware, and construction methods borrowed from heritage workwear and military tailoring.
Limited by Intent
We produce in small quantities at partner ateliers in Portugal and Italy. When a piece sells out, it's gone. This isn't artificial scarcity — it's a commitment to making only what we believe in.
Radical Transparency
